Asamoah Gyan has 101 caps for the Black Stars and not the 100 which has been widely reported by a section of the media.
Pulse Sports reported before the Ghana-Egypt clash that Asamoah Gyan would make his 100 appearance in international football if selected by Avram Grant.
He was handed a start but unfortunately, he limped off, after picking up an injury in that game.
There were reports after the game that Gyan made his 99th appearance and he would need a game to reach the milestone of 100 games.
And just after the 31-year-old came on in Ghana’s 0-2 defeat against Cameroon several media outlets reported that the Al Ahly striker was playing his 100th game for Ghana.
Pulse Sports has taken pain to give a match to match account of Asamoah Gyan’s international career to establish the fact that he had his 100 caps for the Black Stars in their game against Egypt and coming on as a substitute against Cameroon makes it 101 games.
Asamoah Gyan made his Black Stars debut against Somalia on 16th November, 2003 and found the back of the net in a 5-0 thrashing of the East Africans.
Gyan has since scored 49 goals and is just a goal away from hitting 50 international goals.
