Shane Watson joked that UK voters will be unable to call upon the DRS after the historic 'Brexit' vote was announced on Friday.

Shane Watson appeared happy for his reputation as a serial reviewer of umpiring decisions to be used for comedy effect following the United Kingdom's decision to leave the European Union.

It was announced on Friday that the UK had voted in favour of a 'Brexit', the momentous news leading to the resignation of prime minister David Cameron.

As many struggled to come to terms with the outcome of the referendum, former England batsman James Taylor tweeted a picture of Watson signalling for a review, accompanied by the message "Any chance we can have another go??? #EuRefResults".

And Watson, who ended his Australia career following this year's World Twenty20, was content to play along with the joke.

The all-rounder - mocked for a series of unsuccessful lbw reviews in Ashes Tests against England - replied to Taylor, "Unfortunately doesn't look like there is a DRS [Decision Review System] available on this one #interestingtimesaheadinUK", in a message containing a winking emoji.
