Luther Burrell has been called into England's training squad ahead of Saturday's Six Nations contest with Ireland as a replacement for the injured Ollie Devoto.

Northampton Saints centre Burrell has not represented his country since playing a Rugby World Cup warm-up fixture against France last August.

Burrell was a surprise omission in favour of Sam Burgess for Stuart Lancaster's final squad, a decision the 28-year-old said left him "mentally broken".

He has yet to feature for new head coach Eddie Jones, but Devoto suffered concussion in Bath's 24-18 defeat to Wasps on Saturday and Burrell is training with England ahead of the Ireland contest at Twickenham as they attempt to make it three wins from three in the Six Nations.

Josh Beaumont is also unavailable after he dislocated his shoulder in Sale Sharks' 31-23 reverse at Worcester Warriors.
