Janka secures Super-G victory in South Korea

A super display from Switzerland's Carlo Janka saw the 29-year-old secure a maiden Super-G win at the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup.

Carlo Janka claimed a career-best finish in the Super-G event of the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup with victory in Jeongseon on Saturday.

The Swiss recorded a time of one minute, 26.16 seconds, which saw him secure first place ahead of Italian Christof Innerhofer in South Korea.
A previous winner of the event, Innerhofer (+0.82secs) could only manage second ahead of Vincent Kriechmayr (+1.06secs) in third.
Norwegian Aleksander Aamodt Kilde (+1.21) and Italian Peter Fill (+1.26) rounded out the top five.
For Janka, it marked his first win in the Super-G event after previously picking up two runner-up finishes - at Val Gardena, Italy in 2009 and Lake Louise, Canada in 2013.
