Two girls die in Tema Newtown fire

Two girls lost their lives in a fire outbreak at Tema New Town on Monday dawn.

The kids were trapped and burnt to death after the makeshift wooden structure they were sleeping in got totally destroyed by the fire at a location popularly called Zimbay Spot.

Titus Glover, Member of Parliament for the area said the girls aged four and 14 got trapped in the wooden structure which was serving as their residence when the fire started.

Mother of one of the children, Mary Kwenor, said although she heard the screams of her child and other girl, she was unable to help them because of the intensity of the fire.

Investigations have commenced into the incident
