NPP gov't will construct new stadia - Isaac Asiamah

Sports Minister-designate, Isaac Assiamah has announced that five modern Stadia would be built by the government in five regions to enhance sports development.
Appearing before Parliament’s Appointments Committee Tuesday, Asiamah said the idea is to ensure that every region has a befitting sports stadium.

He said the multi-sport stadia will be constructed in the Brong Ahafo, Eastern, Upper East, Upper West and Volta Regions.
The minister-designate who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Atwima-Mponua said he will be committed to the construction of the stadia.
He added that he will not be dealing directly with the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
"When I am confirmed by this honourable house as Sports Minister, and I want to make this clear to everybody, I won't be dealing directly with the GFA," he said.
