Sri Lanka's Prasad out of first Test against England
The 32-year-old quick was a doubt for the opening game of the three-match series against Alastair Cook's men at Headingley after damaging his shoulder in the first warm-up match of the tour against Essex this week.
Prasad missed the second tour match against Leicestershire, which ended in a draw on Sunday, and Sri Lanka coach Graham Ford revealed he will not be fit to face England in Leeds – which starts on Thursday.
"He's not available for the first Test and it's an ongoing assessment, on a daily basis," Ford said.
"I am hoping that we can get him bowling again fairly soon. Then we'll have to build him up and get quite a number of overs bowled in the nets in order to prepare him for potentially the second and third Test."
Dimuth Karunaratne made an unbeaten century as the tourists declared on 200-4 at Grace Road on the third and final day against Leicestershire, who declared on 375-5 in their first innings.
