Ghana may have to soon export some of its health professionals to other countries because of an over-supply, according to outgoing President John Mahama.

The president said this during his constitutionally mandated final State of the Nation Address in Parliament on Thursday January 5, 2017.

The sixth parliament is expected to be dissolved on Friday January 6 with a new crop of parliamentarians sworn-in on the Saturday January 7.

President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo and Mahamudu Bawumia, vice-president elect, would be sworn in on Saturday January 7 at the Independence Square.

Over 6,000 guests are expected at the inauguration ceremony with at least 11 African heads of state already confirming their attendance. President of Ghana's western neighbour Ivory Coast, Alassane Ouattara will be the special guest of honour at the swearing-in ceremony.
