Ghana follow Egypt when it comes to nations with the best defence in the 2017 AFCON

Ghana have the second-best defence in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Gabon, with group D opponents, Egypt emerging as the over-all best.

Egypt were the only side that played all the three games without conceding a goal, while Ghana until their final group D game had not let in a goal.

Mohammed Salah's powerful freekick in the 11th minute, however, ensured that Ghana for the first time conceded a goal as Egypt defeated the four times champions 1-0 to top group D.

Zimbabwe shipped in the highest number of goals. Eight goals conceded in the group stage, hence emerged as the worst defensive side.
