Steve Nash: Steph Curry is the greatest shooter ever
NBA great Steve Nash reckons Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry already has the title of 'greatest shooter ever' under wraps.
While most ex-players will generally avoid naming a current star as the best-ever in anything, Nash - a two-time MVP - has few qualms in giving Curry that label.
"Truly, from the eye test, he's the greatest there's ever been," Nash told Bleacher Report.
Nash knows a thing or two about sharp shooting - he's one of only nine players in league history to shoot 50 per cent from the field, 40 per cent from the three-point line and 90 per cent from the free-throw line in the same season.
Curry has never achieved that but Nash says there is a reason for it.
"He's probably going to shoot a lower percentage than me his whole career because he's going to take more shots, and he should," Nash said.
Curry shot 48.7 percent from the field, 44.3 percent from the three-point line and 91.4 percent from the free-throw line this season en route to winning MVP honours for the first time in his career.
The 27-year-old also set league records for three-pointers in a single season (286, breaking his own record) and a single post-season (73 and counting).
Nash, who played for the Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers in his 18-year NBA career, says Curry can do it all: "He's as good as anyone I can think of on every level - pure shooting, array of shots, percentage, getting hot, plays to the end - he checks all the boxes."
