Ryan Hampshire and Luke Dorn scored doubles as Castleford secured two important points to send them sixth and clear of the qualifiers.

After Hampshire crossed in the eighth minute to put the Tigers ahead, Catalans hit back through a converted Justin Horo try.

It proved to be the only time the Dragons lead, though, as Hampshire, Frankie Mariano – making his return first appearance since March due to a series of injury problems – and Paul McShane sent Castleford into the break with a 20-6 lead.

Fouad Yaha cancelled out Dorn's first try early in the second half, but Oliver Holmes touched down a grubber kick from Luke Gale – who kicked 10 points – as the hosts restored control.

Dorn ran in his second following a neat dummy, with Remi Casty and Julian Bousquet adding some more respectability to the scoreline for the Dragons.
