Before his several ordeal with drug abuse and other troubles, Lamar Odom was a bonafide sportsman in the NBA.

Like controversial British media personality, Piers Morgan put it, ‘Lamar was a focused, intense, combative and brilliant’ basketballer for the LA Lakers where he won back to back NBA Championship.

The first NBA Championship was won in 2009 after best-of-seven playoff was contested between the Los Angeles Lakers, champions of the Western Conference and defending Western Conference champions, and the Orlando Magic, champions of the Eastern Conference.

The Lakers defeated the Magic, four games to one, to win the franchise's 15th NBA championship.

Odom spent seven seasons with the Lakers before he was traded to Dallas.
