Rising Ghanaian artist Tofamba is back with a powerful new single titled “Anadwo,” a song that dives deep into the emotions many people feel when life gets heavy and the world becomes quiet. The word Anadwo, which means “night” in Twi, perfectly reflects the mood and story behind the song. According to Tofamba, “Anadwo” is a song for everyone.

It speaks to people who are in love, those who have lost love, and even those quietly battling situations they struggle to explain to others. The inspiration for the song came from a personal time in Tofamba’s life when she was dealing with several challenges at once.

During the day, everything seemed normal on the outside. But when night came, things felt different. The silence of the night made those emotions louder and heavier. Those latenight feelings eventually inspired the creation of “Anadwo.” While the title simply means night, the message behind the song goes much deeper. Nighttime is often when people reflect on life. It’s when emotions feel stronger and thoughts become louder. For many people going through personal struggles, those quiet hours can feel overwhelming. Tofamba says this shared experience is exactly what the song represents.

The track was produced by UglyXtough, whose sound helped bring the emotional story of the song to life. Musically, “Anadwo” blends Afrosounds with touches of Highlife, creating a smooth, soulful sound that still keeps listeners vibing. Tofamba also shares that parts of the song reflect her younger years. Back then, she spent a lot of time enjoying life in the streets without thinking too much about the future. What once felt carefree eventually led to difficult realities—experiences that helped shape both her mindset and her music.

Even though the song comes from an emotional place, Tofamba hopes listeners walk away with a message of hope. No matter how heavy life feels or how long the nights seem, she believes there is always light waiting somewhere ahead. The recording process itself was also special. Producers Ugly and Tough supported her throughout the journey, helping her fully express the emotion behind the song. At one point, Tough even told her the song was exceptional, a moment that boosted her confidence in the project.
