Two South African rugby players failed drugs tests

Two South African rugby union players have tested positive for banned substances during routine testing.

The South African Institute for Drug Free Sport (SAIDS) informed the South African Rugby Union (SARU) of the failed tests this week.

SAIDS Chief Executive Khalid Galant revealed that the duo, who have not been named, have been informed of the irregularities in their tests and have the option of requesting a 'B' sample.

Galant told Supersport: "In some cases players accept the findings and do not contest them, so as to have their suspension begin as soon as possible."
