He said when the NPP came to power in 2000, the nation was in a similar state as it is now but ex-President John Kufuor put together an able team and “before long, turned the economy around.”

“An Akufo-Addo government is going to do the same. This election is for the NPP to win,” he remarked.

Addressing part delegates in Sunyani on Saturday where he outdoored his campaign team, Nana Addo state that the NPP campaign “will be fully decentralised… I am counting on all members of our party to work hard and get the NPP message to every Ghanaian.”

“If you’ve had enough of being embarrassed and impoverished by incompetent and dishonest government and if you can no longer tolerate broken promises, then I ask you to join us to rid our nation of this government,” he said.

The three-time flagbearer of the NPP argued that after seven years of the NDC and Mahama government, Ghana is in a sad state and the country’s national life is going backwards.

He however, urged the electorates to believe in him and the NPP because “we do have the courage, the expertise and the energy to turn our country around. We have done it before.”

“Ghana deserves much, much better. Ghanaians are anxious for change. Ghanaians, especially the youth, need to have change. We of the NPP have a good story to tell…together, we will bring that change to Ghana, together; we shall bring Ghana back to the path of progress and prosperity,” he added.
