The experienced England international was due to sit out Friday's Super League contest against Wakefield Trinity Wildcats through suspension.

However, head coach Tony Smith confirmed the 34-year-old would not have been fit for selection anyway.

"He's got a little floating bone in his ankle so will have an operation on Wednesday on that," Smith told Warrington's official website.

"He'll be out for the best part of a month."
