Andre Ayew's West Ham United have given themselves a huge boost in their fight for Premier League survival with a 1-0 win over Jordan Ayew's Swansea City in Saturday's clash at the London Stadium.

The hosts were bright from the off and took a deserved lead just before half-time when Cheikhou Kouyate collected a Robert Snodgrass pass, strode into space and rifled a ferocious strike past Lukasz Fabianski from 25 yards out.

Andre Ayew had two late opportunities to clinch the points against his former club but both were snuffed out by the impressive Fabianski, though the squandered chances mattered little as West Ham clung on and extended Swansea's miserable run away from home.

Andre played 86 minutes for West Ham United whiles his brother Jordan played full 90 minutes for Swansea City at the London Stadium.

The victory gave Andre the family bragging rights as the elder brother's triumph boosts his side's campaign.

The result leaves Swansea in the bottom three of the Premier League with only six games left to secure their top-flight survival.
