How To Backup Your Chats And Pictures

Whatsapp has launched a new feature that gives its users the ability to back up data on Google's cloud service, Google Drive.

Users can now restore their chat logs from Google drive after the loss of such data from their SD cards or devices with the new feature.

Here's how it is done:

1. Download the latest version of Whatsapp.

The latest release of Whatsapp isn't on Google Play Store yet but you can get the unofficial release here.

2. Change your backup settings: Go to settings - Chat settings - Chat backup. The backup is turned off by default so you have to turn it on by changing the backup frequency to any of the ones specified.

3. Choose location for your backup: In Previous versions, the only options for backup were your phone memory and your SD card but now you have your mail as an option. Hit the "account" option and select which mailbox to use for your backup.

4. Choose your preferred backup method - Cellular or WiFi.
