Ghana's presidential jet is one of the priciest in Africa-here is how much it costs

Like heads of state around the world, African presidents often fly in expensive planes with state-of-the-art technology, safety and luxury.

Some of these planes can hold hundreds of people, but mainly transport just the president and his entourage. While governments argue that presidents need expensive planes for safety, the public often criticizes these jets as unnecessary government spending.

Talk of luxury and speed all packaged together and President Akufo Addo’s plane comes to the foresight. The three engine supersonic jet enjoys an extended range of 9000 kilometers which simply means that it can stay airborne for up to 13 hours.

According to local news agency, Ghanaweb the presidential jet which was acquired in 2010 cost $37 million.

The 16-seater Falcon 900 EX EASY Presidential jet is used by the presidency and senior government officials on national and international assignments.
