The news made headlines on all major news outlets with Episode claiming to sue Samini and the High Grade Family for betraying him publicly following a promise Samini made during the former’s album launch in Accra.

In an exclusive interview at Pulse studios, the artist finally voiced his side of the story and broke down exactly what happened between them.

“When that guy came out with his claim I’ve been quiet, holding my corner and sometimes I advise myself not to repeat certain gestures I do for these kids because of the disrespect they have shown after. I was in my corner up in the hill in Aburi and the calls kept coming. Its Episode's album launch there is nobody here. Can you pass through? There is no big artist here, try passingthrough. Whacky, Kareem, Brainy Beats called me I said why not because I mean Episode has performed for me onstage. I’ve seen my Highgrade family boys carry him around from Accra to different shows so if they’ve been able to help him put together his album then I’ll be there to support. I get to the programme they start the auction and it is dull nobody is saying anything so in my head I’m like its Episodes album launch give them some 10,000 Ghana cedis so I pledged 10,000 and a few others did theirs. If you don’t hear from me you’ve gone to take the vocals from the event, taken that sound bite you’ve recorded a song and you’ve put my name in there saying people like us are fake.”

“Meanwhile there are different ways to come for your money. What can you do if I say I do not remember? I decided that it was good to give him two videos each worth. He could have asked for the money there are a thousand ways.” He elaborated.

He further stated that the management of Episode were using the whole incident as a publicity stunt.

“They released a track to say the big man came to the show and didn’t pay and we see how far it goes. The Highgrade people weren’t happy with that decision so they refused to be part of it. I have proof of email and these people were ready to spin a controversy about me coming to his album launch and I have not paid.”

The Dancehall artist said he felt that Episode had to show a level of gratitude for all that he did for his career.
