3 healthy tuna recipes you can prepare for breakfast

Tuna contains Vitamin B which is a major component in strengthening bones

Adding tuna to your favorite recipes supplies your body with amazing nutrients such as omega-3 fatty acids,  manganese, zinc, vitamin C, and selenium.

Here are easy tuna recipes you can prepare for breakfast.

1. Tuna salad

Ingredients

Two 6-ounce cans white meat tuna packed in water, drained

2 tablespoons minced celery

2 tablespoons minced red onion, soaked in cold water for 5 minutes and drained

1 teaspoon minced flat-leaf parsley

1/3 cup prepared mayonnaise

1 tablespoon whole-grain mustard

Freshly ground black pepper

Freshly squeezed lemon juice (optional)

In a small mixing bowl break up the tuna with a fork. Toss with the celery, onion, and parsley.

Add the mayonnaise, mustard and season with pepper, to taste. Stir to combine. Add lemon juice, to taste.

2. Tuna Salad sandwich

Ingredients

2 cans (6 oz each)  tuna in water

1 small onion

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

8 slices bread

Method

Drain the tuna in a strainer in the sink. Chop the celery to measure 1/2 cup. Peel and chop the onion to measure 1/4 cup.

In a medium bowl, mix the tuna, celery, onion, mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt and pepper.

Spread tuna mixture on 4 bread slices. Top with remaining bread slices.

3. Scrambled eggs with tuna

Ingredients

Eggs

1 cans(6 oz each)  tuna in water

A knob of butter

Full cream milk

Salt

Onion

Tomatoes

Green pepper

Carrots

Method

Wash all vegetables (Onion, tomatoes, green pepper, carrots) and chop into cubes.

Crack all eggs into a bowl.

Lightly whisk the eggs, cream, and a pinch of salt together until all the ingredients are just combined and the mixture has one consistency.

Add vegetables, tuna and whisk

Heat a small non-stick frying pan for a minute or so, then add the butter and let it melt.

Pour in the egg mixture and let it sit, without stirring, for 20 seconds.

Stir with a wooden spoon, lifting and folding it over from the bottom of the pan. Let it sit for another 10 seconds then stir and fold again.

Give a final stir and serve the scramble egg.
