Some Ghanaians have taken to social media to express their joy over the suspension of motor-checks on the country’s roads by the police.

The Ghana Police Command in an internal memo cited by Pulse.com.gh and signed by the Commissioner of Police, Ransford Moses Ninson said police personnel should suspend motor-checks on the roads with immediate effect.

Even though the memo contained no reason for this directive, it requested that “MTTD personnel are to be used only for traffic management duties.”

A few hours after the announcement, some Ghanaians have hailed the Police Service for taking such a directive.
