Clad in red attires and scarfs, the demonstrators marched around the streets on Oforikrom holding placards with various messages.
Some of the placards had inscriptions such as "High increases in foam prices is killing our business", "Mr President, we need your help", "Ash and Latex foam, tell us if you want us out of our own Ghana", "We need more foam companies”, among others.
According to them, the prices of foam has increased over 100 per cent in the last two months.
This, the protestors said, has led to a collapse of their businesses and they could no longer look on without responding.
The carpenters appealed to government to help reduce the prices of foams in order to get their businesses back on track.
The further appealed to the government to consider setting up foam manufacturing companies in the country as part of its flagship "One-District-One-Factory policy”.
This, they believe, will help create jobs for persons of their ilk who lack the funds to start their own businesses.
