An ex-convict whose name has been withheld has urged the Police hierarchy to make good use of COP Kofi Boakye and COP Tetteh Yehonu in their fight against the increasing armed robbery in the few days.

In an interview with Accra-based Kasapa FM, the ex-convict said that the immediate past Ashanti Regional Police Commander COP Nathan Kofi Boakye is feared by many armed robbers.

He was of the view that COP Kofi Boakye is not useful in his current position and must be given an appointment to a place where he can fight crime directly.

These are Policemen that armed robbers fear a lot. These people must be put on the grounds because they will pursue armed robbers and arrest them. They have people on the ground working with them and they have a lot of information.”

“Armed robbers fear Kofi Boakye, especially our Nigerian brothers who are into armed robbery here. I can tell you for a fact that whenever they hear his name they become frightened. When the Nigerians hear that Kofi Boakye has returned to the streets, they’ll send back information to their country cautioning their fellow robbers not to come down to Ghana because he’s back in charge. They really fear that man.”

His comments follow the increasing robbery during the day and also at night in the country especially in Greater Accra region.
