She explained that wearing miniskirts does not make one bad, adding that she used to like such dresses while she was in the University.

“I don’t…no I don’t [them]. I was one of the people who said it is wrong for people to think that because a style is in fashion, it makes the person who wears it bad. No that is not it…if the person just wants to be fashionable and wear a mini skirt why not?” Nana Konadu said, as quoted by Peacefmonline.
The former First Lady was a student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
She said there were a couple of fashion trends on campus at the time, including students wearing “hot pants”.

Nana Konadu said although she does not support the idea of ladies wearing exposing dresses, such acts shouldn’t be taken as an invitation to rape.
“They were wearing hot pants (back in KNUST), I never wore a hot pant anyway. They were wearing hot pants in TECH…after the miniskirts came the hot pants and then came the midi and the maxi. It is fashion and should not be a basis for people to want to rape girls. That is dangerous,” she added.
