Nana Addo repeating same mistakes committed by Mahama - Steve Manteaw

Dr. Steve Manteaw said he is not impressed with the way the President is ruling the country

He said he is not impressed with the way the President is ruling the country adding that he is expecting him [Nana Addo] to adopt a different approach to govern.

According to him, "Akufo-Addo is repeating the same mistakes committed by John Mahama and I’m very disappointed. After getting overwhelming votes for change, I was expecting him to adopt a different approach or style to managing the affairs of the country."

He added that President Akufo-Addo is expected to sack all political appointees made by Mahama in the various public institutions and declare the positions vacant for competent people to apply.

"Since he assumed office as President of the land, I was expecting him [Akufo-Addo] to sack all political appointees in the various public institutions and declare that positions vacant to allow competent people to apply through a competitive process to ensure sanity and robust in public service," Steve Manteaw said.

Speaking at the back of the massive corruption allegation at the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), he said Nana Addo must ensure sanity in public services.

He, however, described the appointment of the acting Chairperson of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay as the board chairman of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), as well as other similar appointments as a wrong move by Nana Addo.

"Public institutions such as the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) and among others will continue to under perform in the country and corruption will continue to dominate in the public institutions due to the appointment of such party executives and officials," Dr. Steve Manteaw said on Accra-based Adom FM.
