The seven panel of judges presided over by Chief Justice Georgina Wood failed to give reasons for their decision.

They also advised the EC to engage more with other stakeholders in the election to ensure a more transparent process ahead of the November polls.

The PNC organizer in his writ filed, pleaded with the court to set aside "the 2012 voters' register and compel the electoral commission to compile a fresh voters’ register before any new public election or referendum is conducted in this country".

He also argued that it will be contemptuous for the Electoral Commission to conduct the by-election in the Abuakwa North by-election using the current voters’ register.
