The ministry of trade and industry is set to declare first Friday of every month a Batakari or Dansika Friday.

This declaration will take place on September 04 2015, at a ceremony dubbed "The grass is greener" an initiative of the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority.

The objective of this initiative is to collate, document, develop and package a brand with a view to attract investors, tourists and business people to the creative economy of the SADA Zone.

As part of this rebranding of the SADA initiative, a fully packaged road show will be developed, starting in Accra with a month long experience hosted in the Office of the World Bank Group Ghana. After the month, it will move throughout the country stopping at every regional capital to share insights and educate people on the SADA Zone.

This ministry of trade and industry under the Kuffour administration also launched what is now popularly called "Friday wear". The initiative seeks to encourage people to wear African print every Friday as a way of promoting made in Ghana goods.

The Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) is an independent agency for coordinating a comprehensive development agenda for the northern savannah ecological zone in Ghana.

The area comprises the three Northern regions of Ghana namely, Upper East, Upper West and the Northern Region.

SADA constitutes Ghana’s response to effects of climate change associated with floods and draught.

But for the past year it has been hit with major corruption scandals.
