In November last year, President John Mahama nominated Alfred Wukanya for the position, however, he is yet to be confirmed by the assembly members.

The youth have subsequently accused the Volta Regional Minister, Helen Adjoa Ntoso, who is acting as DCE, for Nkwanta South, of masterminding the delay in confirming Alfred Wukanya.

The youth, who seem to have run out of patience, have vowed to continue with their protest next week if a date is not fixed for the assembly to vote on the DCE nominee.
