Mohammed Polo wants Local Black Stars to face Rwanda

The legendary player has stated that the Domestic-based Black Stars team should be used in Ghana’s last AFCON qualifying game against Uganda.

The Black Stars qualified for the 2017 African Cup of Nations to be staged in Gabon in January, 2017 on Sunday, following a 0-2 victory over Mauritius with a game to go.

Many people believe Ghana’s game against Uganda would be an opportunity to test the Local Black Stars in order to let them taste a high profile game,  since it would have no consequence on Ghana’s qualification.

Mohammed Polo, who won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1978 with the Black Stars backs that assertion, because it would give players featuring in the Ghana Premier League the opportunity to showcase what they are made of at the top level.

“The game is just for formality, so the local based players should be used for the game. This would enable us to assess the local league, either than that we won’t know where the team is moving towards,” he told Happy FM.
