The communications director of the Ghana Football Association Ibrahim Sannie Daara has given a fair reflection of the Ghana Football Association’s stance on hosting the 2018 CHAN tournament.
There were a lot of public demand after initial proposed host Kenya being stripped of hosting rights on the 23rd of September,2017 fell in line with Ghana successfully hosting and winning the WAFU cup of Nations on the 24th of September,2017.
Speaking to Citi Fm, Mr Sannie Daara made a much grounded statement in the direction of the state on the contrary being unable to host
“It is true that hosting the tournament will yield a lot of benefits for the country.
“But it becomes a little troubling when you factor in the fact that the host nation will have to shoulder for instance the travelling expenses for all participating countries.

However, Mr Sannie Daara believes hosting two CAF tournaments is rather too much for the state
“We can also talk about accommodation and feeding as well as everything associated with the tournament.
“We are not sure if the country is in the financial state to shoulder the burden of hosting two tournaments in one year”.
With the deadline of states interested of taking up the CHAN tournament to offer bids to have elapsed, Ethiopia, Equatorial Guinea and Morocco are the states that have made official bids for the tournament so far.
New host will be announced 15 days from the 23rd of September when the meeting was held by CAF at Tang Palace Hotel in Accra.
