Blame Isaac Asiamah for neglect of Dzamefe Commission report – Nii Lante

President Akufo-Addo shocked many Ghanaians when he said the report of the Dzamefe Commission is not on his radar.

The Dzamefe Commission was set up by the erstwhile government following Ghana’s chaotic appearance at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The Commission was subsequently tasked to investigate what led to Ghana’s shortfall at the global showpiece, including infamous flight that carried over $3 million from Ghana to the South American nation to pay player bonuses.

However, despite the Commission concluding its task, recommendations made in its White Paper have been left unattended to.

Addressing a media encounter on Wednesday, President Akufo-Addo shocked many Ghanaians when he said he had completely forgotten about the White Paper and that the issue was not even on his radar.

Commenting on the subject, Nii Lante Vanderpuije believes the current Sports Minister should be blamed for the President’s neglect of the White Paper.

According to him, it is Isaac Asiamah’s duty to prompt the President to deal with the issue, while accusing the Sports Minister of being in bed with officials of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

“It is the minister who is supposed to prompt the president to deal with the issue. And I am not surprised because the minister is in bed with the GFA and so probably he has told the president not to show any interest in it,” Nii Lante told Starr Sports.

“What the President said is a very serious statement and if you the Journalist will let him go with it then it’s up to you.”
