GFA denies knowledge of new Black Stars jerseys

The GFA says reports that a new Black Stars kit has been released are false.

Earlier in the week, various local media outlets reported that kits sponsors of the Black Stars Puma, have released a new set of jerseys for the team to use in their last World Cup qualifier against Egypt.

The news caused outrage among majority of Ghanaians, with some taking to social media to criticise the GFA on their choice of jersey for the national team.

However, the Association has now come out to deny such claims, insisting there will be no unveiling of a new kit.

Responding to the rumours, GFA spokesperson Ibrahim Sannie Daara said all the images on social media are false, urging the public to dispel such claims.

“Thereisno new kit, theteam will not beunveilingany new kit, I haveseen all thoseimages on socialmedia,” Sannie is quoted as saying by Footballinghana.“We know puma is designing a new kit and at the appropriate time we will unveil that kit as and when it is ready.”

The Black Stars have failed to qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 2006 after finishing below Egypt in group E.

However, the Pharaohs will face Ghana on Sunday, in what is meant to be a game of pride for the Black Stars.
