Check out Derek Boateng's luxurious hotel set to land him all the cash

The retired Black Stars midfielder has also decided to go into business by putting up a five-star hotel in Accra.

However, for ex-Ghana international Derrick Boateng that is not the case, considering his latest business venture.

The 34-year-old is reported to have put up a plush five-star hotel in Accra, as he looks towards life after the game.

Ghanasoccernet reports that the luxurious facility is named Mendieta Hotel, which was coined from the first names of his three daughters – Mendy, Taisha and Terick.

The Mendieta Hotel is located near the Golf Park, Achimota in Accra, and has a wide range of facilities including gyms, pools and grass effect carpets.

Boateng called time on his international career earlier year, after failing to earn a Black Stars call-up since 2013.

However, it appears he has already planned for life after football by investing his money into the hotel business.

His latest venture means he joins a list of very few Ghanaian players who own businesses outside of their football careers.

Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan and Sulley Muntari are players from this generation who have ventured into other businesses aside their roles as footballers.

Gyan has established a number of businesses and recently applied for a license to operate an airline in the country, while Muntari owns a garage in Italy where he trades in cars.

Boateng, though, has taken a different business path but appears to have an eye on is longer-term future after football his football career.
