Championship club, Woverhampton Wanderers has confirmed the capture of Phil Ofosu-Ayeh on a three-year-deal.

The Ghana defender will join the Championship side as a free agent when his contract with Eintracht Braunschweig expires on July 1.

Wolves confirmed the 25-year-old defender’s signing on their Twitter handle on Monday.

A club statement said: “We are delighted to confirm that Phil Ofosu-Ayeh is set to join the club [Wolverhampton Wanderers] at the start of July on a three-year-deal.”

Ofosu-Ayeh is currently on the books of German second-tier side Eintracht Braunschweig, but rejected a contract extension after falling out with the club’s manager, Torsten Lieberknecht.

Pulse Sports reported earlier this month that new Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo had identified the Ghanaian as a key part of his plans for next season.

And it appears the Portuguese coach has back that up by signing the versatile defender.

The former Aalen rearguard has signed a deal that keeps him at Wolves until the summer of 2020, but will have to wait until 1st July to join his team-mates.

Ofosu-Ayeh has been capped just once by the Black Stars.
