The Graphic Sports reports that the Ghanaian fans were prevented from entering the stadium with their drums and trumpets, with the police explaining that the instruments were threats to security.

All attempts to persuade the police proved futile, as the supporters stood aloof for well over 45 minutes.

They then had to go into the stadium without their instruments, as the Black Starlets’ game was just some few minutes away from kickstarting.

The fans, though, were not deterred by the happenings and entered the stadium with high enthusiasm to cheer their team to victory.

Denied of their musical instruments, the Ghanaian fans sang on top of their voices throughout the 90 minutes, winning the admiration of Indian natives in the stadium.

The Black Starlets defeated Niger 2-0 in the round of 16 thanks to goals from Eric Ayiah and Richard Danso.
