The late goal hero for Aduana Stars when his side held Ashgold has stated his stunner was motivated by Luis Suarez’s last week goal against Arsenal.
Adjei was the talk of match day 5 of the Ghana Premier League when he rescued Aduana Stars with an acrobatic goal that earned his side a point in the 90 minute of their 1-1 draw against AshantiGold in Obuasi.
The former Black Meteors striker who was behind his TV set to watch Suarez break Arsenal’s heart with the goal that restored the European champions, Barcelona’s lead on the night, told himself he would score a similar one in his career and he took the opportunity when it came against Ashgold.
"I was watching the Uefa Champions League game between Arsenal and Barcelona and saw Suarez score that goal. I always wanted to score a goal of that caliber so I prepared for it and when the opportunity came I took it well,"
"I hope to score more goals and that should be around 20 goals," he told Accra-based Asempa FM.
The goal has earned international recognition, as CNN has nominated it to compete with others for the goal of the week.
