Liverpool forward undergoes hip surgery in US

Liverpool forward, Daniel Sturridge has undergone a hip surgery in America to correct a problem which has ruled him out of the season.

The England international flew into US last week to see a specialist for the hip problem that has plagued him this season.

The 25-year-old took to his Instagram to reveal that he has undergone a successful surgery to correct the problem.

"Just want to let the world know I've had a successful operation on my hip today and I want to thank God for allowing that to be possible. Onwards and upwards from here. Thanks for the support. Daniel x," he wrote alongside a photo of him in a hospital robe.
