Whitenicious boss jacks Rihanna’s ‘American Oxygen’, calls it ‘African Energy’

Dencia has released a new video which in its entirety, rips off Rihanna’s work.

The controversial singer who is best known for her ‘much-maligned’ skin whitening product Whitenicious, today released a new song and a video titled ‘African Energy’.

The video which Dencia refers to the song as “a positive message to Africans and friends of Africa all over the world about our  beautiful continent”, was shot by Ali Zamani.

But what Dencia would rather not let you know, is that the song and video is a rip off of Rihanna’s 2015 song, ‘American Oxygen’. The song released in April 2016 with a video by Darren Craig, is off the Roc Nation artiste’s eight studio album.

Dencia refuses to acknowledge the source of her visual, this stating in her press release that “After recording the song, we wanted to visually highlight the rich culture and heritage of the motherland and leave people with a dosage of African energy.  African legends and role models such as Nelson Mandela, Folurunsho Alakija,Samuel Eto,Didier Drogba Lupita Nyongo'o and several others are featured in the video."
