F1 star named the 'Richest Sportsman in England'

A new report has revealed that Formula One star and current World Champion Lewis Hamilton is the 'Richest Sportsman in England'.

With a fortune of £88million the Mercedes AMG team comes before Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney who is second with £72million.

In the report byWayne Rooney overtakes another Formula one star Jenson Button who is just £1million behind to second on the list.

British number one Tennis player, Andy Murray who is fourth on the list with a fortune of £48million.

Former Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand with £44million round up the top five.

Former England captain Steven Gerrard who is set to leave Liverpool for the MLS this summer is sixth on the list with a fortune of £42million while British NBA star Luol Deng, who plays for Miami Heat, is seventh with £40million.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho however shares the number seven position with Luol Deng as he also has a fortune of £40m ahead of the next football manager on the list Arsenal's Arsene Wenger.

Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is number eight with a new worth of £39m.

On number nine with a net worth of £38m are Wenger,  Ryan Giggs and golfer Rory Mcllory.
