Manchester City midfielder to remain at club

 
 
Despite intense speculation that he might leave Manchester City this summer, the midfielder has agreed to stay at least another year

The transfer saga surrounding Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, seems to be dieing down after the club's manager, Manuel Pelegrini  revealed that the Ivorian is 'happy' and will remain at the club beyond this summer.

Yaya's future has dominated headlines for weeks as he was linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan.

But the midfielder in a meeting with Manchester City officials, reportedly reiterated his desire to remain at the club.

Ppelegrini reechoed Yaya's sentiments while speaking at a press conference ahead of City's game against MLS side Toronto FC as part of their post-season tour in North America.

"I always say Yaya is happy here. He will stay here because I know the way he thinks," Pelegrini said.

Yaya Toure was signed from Barcelona in 2010 and has two years left to run on his current  £220,000 a week contract.

He has won the English Premier League twice, an FA Cup and a League Cup so far with the club.
