Christian Atsu confident Newcastle will survive relegation

The winger believes the Magpies will soon get over their relegation woes.

Newcastle United winger Christian Atsu is optimistic that the club will survive relegation despite their current struggles in the Premier League.

The Magpies have endured a poor campaign so far in the English topflight, and currently lie in 18th position on the league log.

Raphael Benitez’s side have not recorded a victory each of the last nine games, with their last win in the Premier League game stretching as far back as October when they defeated Crystal Palace 1-0.

However, Atsu – who recently returned from a three-week layoff – believes the club will soon be get back to form and will be able to avoid relegation.

The 25-year-old Shieldsgazzette: “We have to keep calm. We have many games coming up in December and January.

“I am very happy that we have a full squad. Wewill keepworkinghard likebefore.

“We have improved and I believe we will keep improving. I am sure we will get out of thissituation.”

Atsu is in his second season with Newcastle United, having starred for the club in the Championship, before making his loan move from Chelsea permanent during the summer.
