The France international complained bitterly of being racially abused during Juve’s Serie A clash against Cagliari on Saturday.

In the aftermath of the game, Matuidi took to Facebook to hit out at the away fans for their unacceptable conduct, describing them as “weak people”.

One man who has in the past experienced Matuidi’s plight is Boateng, and the Ghana international has thrown his weight behind the Juventus midfielder.

Boateng wrote: “Enough is enough! I am with you, Blaise Matuidi. We need to stand strong and fight racism NOW!!! We are all the same.”

Meanwhile, Cagliari have also apologized to Matudi for his alleged racial abuse at the hands of their fans.

A statement of the club’s official Twitter page read: “You're a great player, an example to young players.

"We want to apologise to you if you were insulted at the Sardegna Arena because of the colour of your skin.

"Racism has nothing to do with the Sardinian people. Only ignorance can explain certain behaviour. Respect."
