This week has been rough for Xandy Kamel following a lawsuit from Salma Mumin over defamatory statements made on the former’s show on Angel TV, a subsidiary of Angel Group.
According to a writ by Salma Mumin’s legal counsel, Gawuga Law, sighted by Pulse.com.gh, Xandy Kamel passed some defamatory statements about her on her show on Angel TV on March 13, 2021.
The writ states that Xandy Kamel should seize from publishing the same or similar defamatory statements about her on her show and publish in the Daily Graphic and on Angel TV unqualified apology and a retraction of the said statements with the same prominence and passion with the defamatory statements were made.
It also ordered Angel TV to remove from its archives be it electronic or whatever form the said defamatory statement and in addition pay out compensatory damages in excess of GHC1 million.

Reacting to this, Xandy Kamel copied re-posted a statement on her Instagram page urging her fellow celebrities to unite and stop fighting.
The post said fans can bring division but it’s not worth it.
She shared a new photo with the caption: “Dear friend in the public service, don’t let any fan confuse you with their loyalty and pin you against another celebrity, it’s not worth it, some of these fans wish we will be fighting every day and so they come and tell you things in your dm’s about what another star has done, sometimes they will tell you, you are at loggerheads with A and b who is your friend is liking A’s pictures so they are ganging up against you, please be smart enough to dismiss such myopic thinkers if not you will fight with everybody, let’s unite for good, we can all win together.”
