Togo international Emmanuel Adebayor has opted to take care of the 11-year-old son of his late brother who passed on in 2013.

The Istanbul Basaksehir striker has now formally adopted his nephew, who was fathered by his late brother, Peter Adebayor.
In an Instagram post, the former Tottenham and Real Madrid attacker announced that he will henceforth consider his 11-year-old nephew as his “first son”, while naming him Junior Emmanuel Adebayor.
He wrote: “Whoever knows me knows my elder brother, Peter Adebayor, who is no longer with us. Here is his son and today I declare him as my first son.
“Let me introduce you to my first son. His name is Junior Emmanuel Adebayor. Blessings…”

Adebayor is now officially a father of two, with his adopted son now adding to his daughter, Kendra, who is seven years old.
The 33-year-old’s gesture will come as a surprise to many, especially after he fell out with his larger family three years ago following issues of abandonment and trust.
The Togo captain is back enjoying his football in the Turkish topflight, with his eight goals propelling Istanbul Basaksehir to the top of the Super Lig.
