No reposting; stay wherever you are posted – NSS to personnel

The Secretariat said all personnel deployed to the various areas and districts of the country must stick to their placements and not seek reposting.

“Let’s all of us go and serve the country, everywhere is Ghana,” the Secretariat urged.

Postings for this year’s national service are already out, with personnel expected to start work on September 3.

However, some persons have complained about their placements and are making efforts to be reposted.

The NSS has, however, warned that no requests for reposting will be entertained expect for persons with special cases.

Explaining further, the Ashanti Regional Director of NSS, Opoku Mensah, said only pregnant women, nursing mothers, and married women with peculiar need will be considered for reposting.

He said, even in such cases, the person must prove to the NSS that he or she merits a reposting based on the situation.

“Let me make it clear that reposting is not a feature of National service program. It is peculiar to certain people which are bias to women,” Mr. Opoku remarked.

He continued: “Another category is a pregnant woman who has to live close to her family can also do that. Again somebody who is sick with medical reports to testify that he or she shouldn’t live in a certain environment and for that matter should be closer to his medical crew is permitted.

“These are the people and not those in good condition seeking for reposting…Let’s all of us go and serve the country, everywhere is Ghana. Let’s go and serve the country.”
