Ghana has recorded six COVID-19 cases within a week which has prompted the government to implement drastic measures to curb the disease.
Yvonne Nelson, who is among the celebrities who are helping to create awareness about the novel Coronavirus, claims the pandemic is boosting businesses in Ghana.
On Monday, March 16, she took to Twitter to say a lot of aeroplanes are landing in Ghana – a suggestion that the aviation sector is making profits at this hard time.
“So many planes are landing. Woke up early just to count! Hhhmm Ghana!” she tweeted.
Yvonne added: “So me counting the planes is now an issue?? Lol laugh a lil. Ryn even helped me count them....they are still passing.....its sunny outside so we’ll continue when the sun goes down. Planes keep flying, keep coming. Keep the business booming.”
She further stated that the grocery sector is as well booming, pointing to activities at a supermarket close in her neigbourhood.
“Business is booming....... the supermarket in my area. Eeiiiiiii i buy water make my car chiaah.”
She said: “Provision shop owners are happy! They selling all the expired goods! What a time!”
She added that the pharmaceutical and water sector are also booming.
“The water business is booming. Pharmacies are happy! Ghanaians on social media are scared.”
