Reality star could be expecting twins

Dr. Sam Najmabadi says ''By doing a SET there is still a small chance of the embryo splitting, or not getting pregnant at all.''

Kim Kardashian could be expecting twins after allegedly undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments to get pregnant again. Experts say IVF is known to increase the chances of having two babies.

Celebrity infertility doctor, Dr. Sam Najmabaditells HollywoodLife, ''In IVF we can put in 1 embryo ‘Single Embryo Transfer’ back into the uterus, which will reduce the chance of multiple pregnancies. By doing a SET there is still a small chance of the embryo splitting, or not getting pregnant at all.  The standard of care says on day 5 you can transfer up to 3 embryos into the uterus of anyone above age 40. Below age 40 is 1-2 embryos.  So if you want to reduce the chance push for a SET – Single Embryo Transfer.''

Dr. Sam also the site that someone can go through IVF several times and still get pregnant naturally.

''Yes this is possible that you may need it and then on the second baby it happens naturally. Many times people who are having issues getting pregnant won’t need help on the second pregnancy and will conceive naturally as long as the reason for doing IVF is not blocked tubes and lack of sperm or ovarian function.  Most often it is people with endometriosis that have issues and once they have a child the issues from their uterus are cleared up from the pregnancy.'' he said.

The site claims that two of Kim’s eggs were fertilized, and that she is waiting to see if they both ‘stick’ before she makes any kind of announcement.
