Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy has stated that winning the 2015 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards came to him as a surprise.

According to Stonebwoy, he was surprised not because he did not deserve the award but the news hit him hard that he was highly elated.

“It was a surprise to me but I wasn’t belittled neither was I intimidated. First and foremost, I tend to derive the joy and like the level that brings to me as an artiste…. It was a surprise to me not to say I don’t deserve it but you know that this is genuine so it puts a punch on your emotions. That was the type of surprise. It was well deserved,” he said in an interview with NYDJ on Behind the Move.

The ‘Baafira’ hit maker was also adjudged Best Dancehall Artiste at the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) in 2015 and won several awards in 2015.
