In an emotional Instagram post today, the “Heart of Men” actress took to the photo-sharing platform to share memories of JJ Rawlings supporting her campaign against ‘Dumsor’ (erratic power supply) in 2015.

Ghanaian award-winning actress and film producer Yvonne Nelson has heaped praises on late former President JJ Rawlings.

The post captures the founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) condemning ‘Dumsor’ and criticising critics of Yvonne Nelson’s move.
“Yvonne Nelson decided to speak up and people are hurling insults at her,” he said in the video. “That is not nice.”
“Is that how politics is supposed to be? As a result, I'm also seated here with so many things hurting my heart so much,” he added.
Yvonne Nelson captioned the video with an emotional message, saying JJ Rawlings died on her birthday and adding that he always stood for the truth.
She continued that Ghana is grateful for his service and further labelled him as ‘one of our greatest’.
“You died on my birthday... you stood for truth always! Ghana is grateful. #RIP one of our greatest,” Yvonne Nelson captioned the video.
The late Rawlings passed away at the age of 73 in the early hours of Thursday, November 12, 2020.
He is said to have died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, where he was on admission after falling sick.
He was laid to rest at the Burma Camp military cemetery in Accra on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
